The property is beautiful - about a mile from Main Street Lake Placid. I had high expectations for our trip based on reviews and ratings. We stayed at this property for four nights last week. While I applaud the hotel for combining mountain luxury with a family friendly atmosphere (this property is super family friendly and would top our list of we return with our. The pool and canoe club (private beach and boating amenities) were all by far the best of any hotel accommodations in LP. I used the spa one evening and had a massage, used the sauna and steam room, all of which were great. We had drinks one evening in Kanu, which was nice - live music and a lovely (reasonably priced) selection. The buffet was adequate and offered something for everyone but nothing outstanding. We ate at the hotel only for breakfast, which was included in our room rate. My only suggestion for improvements in the room would be to have a bedside table on both sides of the bed. The room was clean, bed comfortable, large patio, and lots of amenities. The bathroom had a washer/dryer unit that would be great for winter stays with wet gear or longer stays. Our room was large with a queen bed and a small (but complete) kitchenette. The grounds are beautifully kept - manicured but natural. It's a large log structure with a luxurious yet rustic interior.
